Or who knows how long.

You don't want end of month job separation, best for beginning of the month so that you have your subsidized health benefits for all of october.
GIven how the all-hands meetings tend to go, you might see something happen Tuesday. Just guessing - but Quinn might show up and give you his "this is life" speech, followed by "some of you will get an e-mail at the conclusion of today's meeting."
Or it could be Friday, since that is the end of the month and it's very neat and clean to end on 9/30. Also, the deal officially closes Friday. What better way to celebrate than firing hundreds of people?
Who knows? It will be here soon enough.
I am not sure how they can wait until mid-Oct.
The most recent rumor I've heard is that the first round is coming mid-Oct. I'm not sure if that is geo- or role/dept-specific.
If you have anything personal on your machine, get it off. Clear your browser history from the beginning. Any bookmarks or passwords that aren't Citrix, get rid of them.
I read they might start this Friday/Monday before the company meeting. Has anyone heard anything else?
Agreed. I’ve been preparing for awhile now. Speaking with some folks that got cut last year they all mentioned that no matter how much you think you’re ready — everything goes much quicker after you “get the email.” If you have anything personal, etc., out on Sharefile, or other drives that you won’t have access to, then take time now to get it sorted. They all told me that you have about 2-3 hours, tops after getting the email until all access as you’ve known it is wiped out. Once you leave the meeting with HR “officially” letting you know you’re laid off — you are done and all things Citrix are in the past.
Start planning now while you have a job. Unfortunately the company will be so debt burdened that cuts and outsourcing to low cost locations will be a necessity to service the $1 billion interest expense alone. As a result, plan as if you were going to be laid off and start interviewing. The job market is getting very tough with companies freezing requisitions and the tech sector underperforming in light of rising interest rates and market turmoil. You will need as much lead time as possible to find a job that suits your needs. So start planning and start interviewing such that when the dreaded layoffs occur, you at least have some momentum in your journey toward your next role. Good luck! I am rooting for you.
Absolutely... if they don't just get it over with by next week, that will be very frustrating. Why drag it out? Let's just do this thing already, so that people can plan accordingly.
Get it over with already!
