Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

Future in Kyndryl

I spent more than a decade in IBM and am now part of Kyndryl ( US). I got an offer with almost the same package somewhere else. Is it prudent to move on in these turbulent times? The only positive thing I feel about Kyndryl is work-life balance. With stock price in single digits how safe are Kyndryl jobs in the US?

The key question for OP to answer is how does the new offer and in particular company culture, health, futures compare.

For example IBM Kyndryl would be a "sample bad move" as both are very similarly steeped. But if your Kyndryl -----> Different provides good culture, company health, growth, excitement then sure take it.

I left Kyndryl 6 weeks ago for a position paying 50% more than I made at Kyndryl. While I do miss the comradery, it is always true that when you leave a job, you miss the people, not the job. I could not see the company pulling out of what looked like a tailspin with new signings not making up for the contracts that were not being extended. I still have many friends at Kyndryl and at IBM. I wish them all the best.

I just left, but not really. I have been on the bench for 3 months. I wasn't sure what would happen to me. I've applied internal and nothing. I went looking for a new job external and got one. I just started this past Monday. As of right now, I am employed at Kyndryl while working somewhere else. I am collecting two paychecks. Lol. I got a 10K increase and a 5K sign on bonus at my new job. My goal is to keep low on the bench for as long as I can and then pray for a layoff to get the extra free severance money.

In my humble opinion, Kyndryl is imploding. Did you see that the stock was down another 3.57% today, to just $8.64? Now you can choose between spending $8.64 on a nice frozen pizza, or spend it on one share of Kyndryl stock (hint: the frozen pizza is a better investment)
