Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Cost cutting goals are ambitious without reducing headcount.

Heard recently that bp is trying to reduce costs by 20% YoY… Switching to a cheaper coffee for the office isn’t going to help enough. How else will they reduce the cost of business without cutting contractors and employees?

This LT is delusional. Is there some bad spending here and there? Yes - but 1. It's not 20% and 2. A lot of it is because of decision making that tries to find an easy way out of a situation because we dont have the people to optimize. So additional cost cutting targets will make this 10 times worse. They keep preaching about knowing how work is really done and none of them has a f×××ing clue.

Every area seems to be shortstaffed at this point. Reinvent cut too deep

This is a target expressed to the market by our new CEO. With the way the market is right now this isn't achievable and has just lead to us nickel and diming employees.

Heard our COO said we should be holding our contractors to the terms agreed in the contracts.doesnt work of all their people are leaving for more pay. Whole thing will be a failure, again.
