Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Everyone on my team who was laid off or fired was over 40 and yes very experienced.

It’ll be interesting to see how many of the 1,000 being laid off will be older higher paid workers.

U.S. companies in general have been targeting older employees for a long time. This is not new, or unique to Citrix. Plus, American business culture doesn't value experience.

The only exception seems to be the U.S. congress and the senate.

My understanding was that if myself or a loved one were diagnosed with mesothelioma then we might be entitled to financial compensation. Is this true?

If you're thinking you're going to get laid off and then sue them for age discrimination, that is going to be a tough road. Hard to argue discrimination when a thousand other people get laid off in a merger.

Age was never an issue at Citrix. Diversity was ingrained in our culture. Who knows whether this will change, considering everything else we are seeing, but let's not make stuff up.
