Sears at Valley Mall in Union Gap to close by November

After sitting mostly empty with little merchandise for more than a year, the Sears store at the Valley Mall will close later this fall.

Officials with California-based Eldon W. Gottschalk and Associates, which is handling the store’s liquidation sales, told the Yakima Herald-Republic the store is expected to close by Nov. 20.

Gottschalk is an advertising agency, not a liquidator. Most likely the newspaper learned of the liquidation when Gottschalk requested to buy ads for it.

This brings us down to 14 full-sized Sears stores, 13 in the mainland US and one in Puerto Rico.

Oops, strike Burbank CA off the list! Now 13 non-liquidating full-size Sears stores.

They don't update much of anything on their job postings, or anything else. They guy who used to do that probably quit last year.

The three jobs.sears.com postings for this store (Hardlines Supervisor Full-Time, Backroom Associate Part-Time, Jewelry Sales Associate) still read as if nothing was changing.

Why, why, why???? This was a nice store. What a bunch of b s. I am so tired of seeing stores close. I went to this Sears twice In the last year. So mad.
