Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Bleeding Talent

Never seen a company go through such a self imposed implosion like P66. We are losing talent left and right and keeping the management in place that drove them all to look elsewhere. I’ve seen people leaving in droves recently for competitors. Those that stay are having to work even longer hours to fill in the gaps. I know of entire departments of employees looking at other jobs. At this point they should just get rid of all management and start over before we lose the people that actually do the work! This is a mess! I know of another round of layoffs but at this rate we won’t have any employees to lay off.

Ponca Tech manager was walked out the other day from his office. People are packing stuff so if they are asked , they are prepared. Sh-t is coming to every refinery, no Tech manger as per Bobs. It is sad to see this, but reality. When I said Sweeney is going to hit hard some of you were upset, wait for it.

Who are “Bobs”?

Yeah, had an RLT member tell me that they're hoping for attrition to manage some of the headcount reduction.

Dangerous game, that. Leave people in limbo long enough, they'll start applying and realize p66 isn't keeping up with the rest of the world as far as salaries or benefits...

Maybe it’s all part of a ELT grand masterplan. Get the inept management to p!$$ everyone off and they’ll all leave of their own accord rather than have to pay severance.

Then stop complaining and sharpen your resume now. You don’t want to be the last one in a sunk boat.

P66 also doesn’t like to hire top experienced talent into the company. Experienced professionals are “too expensive” and they prefer the inexperienced low cost labor coming out of college. Very frustrating for qualified, driven professionals hoping to break into the company. The P66 organization is rife with nepotism and the good old boys/girls network (yeah, I’m talking about you Bartlesville.) “Trailing spouses” don’t have a chance in he-l at getting employment at P66.

I feel for the people, actual workers, who get stiffed with the extra work because you know the cheap management won’t backfill, even though it’s peanuts in the broader view. All that work and stress for a 3 rating and potential layoffs! OEIA haha

Agreed, hard to watch. It is like looking at a car wreck, horrifying and yet you can't look away.

Agreed, it’s sadly hilarious. I can only speak to Finance and the attrition is pretty consistent, and I don’t blame them. Fake Sean Connery CFO has lost several direct reports in the past couple of years, mid management are retiring because this place is a major drag, and actual workers are fleeing to greener pastures. We’re a work from work company lol! Tone deaf AF
