I don't plan to wait for severance pay. I will accept the first solid offer considering the state of the job market. Cuts are very likely though don't take my word for it. It's just my opinion. I think it's just a matter of time when the layoffs will be announced and the only question is which groups will be the main targets?

The whole Krause plan is to have very lean business units which concentrate on current customers. Most companies employ more people than they really need, which is a good thing because people need to work. But, in this case, Krause will decide how few employees he needs to keep the business running. Vista doesn't care at all, as you are just a dollar amount on a spreadsheet to them.
Citrix would have had problems even without the merger. This just accelerates the whole process. It's unfair to employees who are good workers and still could get laid off, but you know the saying about life and fairness. :(
Look at loan costs used for buyout. Guaranteed layoffs. No individual performance considerations; just groups. Are you part of shipping product or not and how high are your margins.
I think it's the end of next week but that's a guess. There is the TK big meeting on October 4th. Could be then, or right before then.
« when, exactly, it’s going to happen ?« …when the deal will be completed … in other words next week or the week after …
Probably? What are you, soft? The only question to be answered now is when, exactly, it’s going to happen.
Layoffs are guaranteed. There were even some today based on other posts here. If you get another offer, great, take it.
