Boeing told nonunion corporate staff in an all-hands virtual meeting this month that it will begin outsourcing finance and accounting jobs to Tata Consultancy Services of India.

This should not be surprising. You think we can just sell the largest orders of planes to India and they won't ask for a few jobs? Don't we require Camry to be manufactured here in the USA?

I am honestly shocked that countries have been allowing us to sell products in their respective markets without asking for at least some of the work to be done there.

Like really, why isn't Brazil and Mexico and Ireland asking for the same thing India is requiring now? Or did we really believe that they will allow expensive labor here to leech off their workers?

Another example of why Boeing is no where near a road to recovery.

More like the US will lose many aerospace jobs to China once COMAC replaces Boeing in the commercial airplane duopoly. Boeing is fading much quicker than anyone anticipated...well, except maybe for Bob Bogash and the other Boeing old timers who participated in the 2008 "Not Acceptable" discussion in a heroic but failed attempt to try and save Boeing from the clueless, greedy AHs who took control of the company.

I fully expect Boeing to replace the 2000 engineers in Russia and Ukraine with design centers in India and other locations. One thing is guaranteed that is they will not bring the work back to the US.

For the past 15 years these are the folks who determined / recommended to upper management who should be outsourced / laid off. Can't say I'll be shedding a river of tears over them !!!

“Before their departure, those employees will be asked to train the Tata personnel in Boeing procedures to smooth the handover of the work.” -

Woof, talk about adding insult to injury. Loyal employees expected to train their replacements so the execs can outsource even more US jobs overseas. Tells you everything you need to know about "Boeing values" and American corporate culture.

C suite is trying to horde all the cash they can for their golden parachutes when this company falls into bankruptcy. Added bonus if Tata accounts flub the books so badly that AR starts looking like AP.

They are also opening a design center in Poland, Presumably so the approximately 1000 Ukrainians who worked for Boeing who left Ukraine could move to Poland could work there.

They are also trying to understand why young people do not want to study aerospace engineering or go a A&P license school in the United States, why they don’t think that is a good career choice.
