Thread regarding Ford layoffs

UAW headed for a strike?

The current contract expires next year. I'm guessing the UAW will be going after a hefty COLA raise, and the big three, especially Ford, are likely to balk. I'm guessing a showdown of epic proportions, like we haven't seen in decades, will ensue. Plus Ford's Mexican plants will also be a big sore spot for sure.

The result, more headwinds for Ford. I expect the stock price to be below $10 soon on parts costs and shortages. That will continue well into next year, and then the double whammy of UAW labor costs will hit. Ford stock is set for an epic tumble. Ford already trails its rivals in profitability. Our margins are horrible.in comparison.

The only card the company holds is more salaried layoffs. Why do you think Jim parroting the "we will continue to assess our business and make necessary adjustments" line? Because we ain't done, folks!

So update that resume if you can't retire. I expect the next round to be even bigger!

From a former salaried worker to the hourly. Go for it. get the same raise as those transport workers did last week 25% over 3-4 years. You can be the last trump card for the salaried folks. BTW for those who stay brush up on your Spanish :)
