Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Union

I'm generally anti union. They're like a sledge hammer, and once you have one they can't help treating every situation like a nail.

However we've got a lot of nails.

Upcoming change to force people into a significantly lesser work environment than pre-COVID (hotdesks, $4+ gas)
Incoming healthcare quality reduction and price increases
Gutting of target pay
....basically the general, unilateral redefinition of the terms of our employment

Plus it would be tremendous schadenfreude to see a toolbox of wrenches dumped in the works of the Vista playbook. Imagine how much harder it would make their next deal if they were the ones who let a 10,000+ person tech organization unionize.

He-l, I bet they'll be pi----g themselves just from seeing this pop up here.

We Citrites need to have union representation. If we were unionized, Citrix Bob would have never gotten away with destroying our company and our jobs.

It has been drilled into your mind for the past 40 years to say d-mb things like this. It may take 40 more years of corporations bashing you with there sledge hammer to maybe say "I am generally pro union"

Vote with your feet- lots of well paying jobs in growing tech and go where you will be respected and liked.

Especially if you are in DaaS, Microsoft decided to make this their own revenue stream so the remora that are hanging around the shark will starve even more as the big one takes it all.

There's a lot to be said for white collar people organizing. We don't have the same problems as blue or pink collar workers. We allow ourselves to say "why do we need to organize?" We're "we'll compensated." We "have good benefits." True, that is valid relative to our pink and blue collar compatriots. But the value white collar knowledge workers add to this business vastly outpaces that relative to golden parachute executives.
