I'm generally anti union. They're like a sledge hammer, and once you have one they can't help treating every situation like a nail.
However we've got a lot of nails.
Upcoming change to force people into a significantly lesser work environment than pre-COVID (hotdesks, $4+ gas)
Incoming healthcare quality reduction and price increases
Gutting of target pay
....basically the general, unilateral redefinition of the terms of our employment
Plus it would be tremendous schadenfreude to see a toolbox of wrenches dumped in the works of the Vista playbook. Imagine how much harder it would make their next deal if they were the ones who let a 10,000+ person tech organization unionize.
