Thread regarding Twilio layoffs

"..we are committed to becoming an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression company."

Layoffs like this can have a more pronounced impact on marginalized communities, so we were particularly focused on ensuring our layoffs – while a business necessity today – were carried out through an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression lens.'

LoL - imagine an exec writing this even 10 years ago.

Random non-Twilio person here who just had to drop by and comment that the CEO's narrative on the layoffs might be the most odorous sack of ex------t I have seen from a tech executive in a really long time. Considering the current corporate environment, that's really saying something.

What a id--t! Got caught up in his main character syndrome. The poor CEO had to make a tough call but he has guts and did it all while being anti-racist! It is embarrassing for anyone still at the company

He should have said that before a bunch of non-marginalized white people gave their all for this anti-oppression company.
