If you have worked in different sectors within L, (Defense, Intelligence, Civil, etc) - what are the biggest differences you’ve encountered as an employee within the groups? Culture, etc…? Will be transferring from one sector to another soon and am curious about this.

I’ve now worked within 3 sectors, and they are all different. Seems to be driven by the contract mostly, but biggest difference is PTO accrual. 1st group, we only got 12 days PTO.
When I first interviewed, I was told 15 days. It was only after I started I was told PTO had to be cut to 12 to make concessions in the contract (mmmk).
In the second group (to which I transferred) we got 22 days!
Third group (rehired here after layoff) has 15 PTO days.
Each group feels like a completely different company, honestly…so choose carefully.
I won’t say which sectors, but I transferred from one to another, and I feel like I’m at a completely diff company. Totally different set of rules and benefits (better 401k, PTO accrual, and tech support. Unreal. Depends on which “fringe” level you’re in, and let’s just say, upgrade!)
