Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Boeing layoffs will be inevitable in the next 6 months

The August inflation report is out and it’s not looking good. The feds goal of a soft landing on the economy is nothing more than a dream. Manufacturing is going to be hit hard. I suggest getting those resumes ready to take your talent elsewhere. The world is about to change fast. Once the economy recovers, these outdated airplane designs will be obsolete. Hopefully Boeing and their suppliers have a post recession plan in place to produce the next generation aircraft geared toward clean energy. That will all take a long time to design and build. It’s going to be a rough next 20 years in the aviation sector.

Boeing’s business model is the constantly layoff and constantly rehire. The problem is the number of young people studying engineering and getting AMP licenses is not enough to meet the demand with their constant layoffs. The days when Boeing could lie and claim aerospace was a good career choice to young college students are over.

Boeing is easy money for daughters and sons who had a daddy that was once a Boeing executive.

Smart people that like money don’t work for Boeing. There are so many union trades people can get into that don’t lay off like Boeing. Also better pay and a pension. Boeings for lazy people that can’t cut it in the trades.

Get resumes ready?
Boeing employees don't have marketable skills. Better to take the unemployment and retraining program, then ride it out and hope for the best.

Calhoun already drew a line in the sand and stated he is in no rush to develop the next aircraft. He’s placing big bets on the current lineup offered at Boeing. I do believe Boeing will be a much smaller company in the next decade and probably leave Seattle all together.
