Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Transformco Home Improvement building for sale

For those who say were restructuring or were not closing. If you go to the Transformco website you can actually see for yourself what's for sale as far as the buildings Eddie owns. You don't start selling buildings and send everyone to work from home and not have a place for the servers or confidential files. Hoffman Estates is already sold and is being cleared out. Now the Home Improvement building is up for sale.

Only liquidating the South side of the complex, North side is still partly occupied. Selling all the furniture, pictures, everything in the cafeteria and all the mdse. left in building . Most of the North side is off limits for now. Big sale going on now with high prices.

Indians scam people around the world from rented offices in nondescript buildings in Delhi. I’m sure Sears can too.

“You don't start selling buildings and send everyone to work from home and not have a place for the servers or confidential files.” - Whoever wrote this has obviously never worked for Sears before and experienced their lack of insight and planning into anything they do.

i believe that this is the old Spraytech building that Ernie Hansen sold to Sears. It was later transformed into "SHIP," Sears Home Improvement Products. It originally marketed textured coating and other high profit improvements such as cabinet refacing. Over time, it also added more traditional home improvements offerings provided by sub contractors. It was separate from Sears Service and other home improvement offerings, such as HIPS (Home Improvement Products and Services) and installed sales offered by Sears stores and later through Sears Logistics (Innovel). Some history from an Old Timer.

Everything is for sale. Eddie is not turning it around. The person who had a recent visit to the Hoffman site, you visited too early. They are still busy liquidating things to clear stuff out, for what little $ they can get, before demolition can actually begin.

Longwood is where the Home Services people are for that area. It make one to wonder where will they part the A&E trucks going forward.

@ahs+1iEQLJKV there is another post confirming Hoffman was sold. It's not even listed on the property for Transformcoproperties.com. If you go to that website it shows the buildings and the broker to contact if it's for sale/rent.

If Hoffman Estates was sold, to whom, and when? If there are published reports, please advise. If there is even speculation as to the identity of the buyer, we'd like to know. I don't want to doubt anyone's word--SHC/Transformco has lived off of rumors for years. However, I have heard of the sale of Hoffman, but there seems nothing to substantiate when this transaction occurred, and who the purchaser is. The FB sales of building contents have largely been sentimental things but nothing of real value. In the last sale "B6" stuff was specifically excluded. Some cafeteria light fixtures are removed--this much I have seen myself, but large-scale evidence of redevelopment or demolition, from my recent visit to the site, seems not to be in evidence.
