Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Leaders only see what they want to see

My impression is that the leadership does not want to see the real picture. I don't know how else to explain some of their bad moves. I would be very worried if I were the leader of a company that everyone wants to leave. Those at the top seem to think that we should be happy just to have a job here? I think that all our competitors are more committed to keeping the best employees than Dell.

Wow, if you have the mindset that the "people" run this place, you need to reasses. You are more than likely on the chopping block if you think you are that special.

I couldn’t agree more about the “Excel Spreadsheet” world Dell lives in, no longer is it about having culture or a sales model approach, I’ve been in tech sales 20+ years (10 of those at Dell, 3 years in a leadership role) and never have I seen a company be so focused on destroying sales culture and doing what’s best for the customer. Moved on and couldn’t be happier, sad .

As of 2022, Dell Technologies' employee count was approximately133 thousand, of which 32 percent were located in the company's home market, the United States.
Enough said.
Could be why (Excel Spreadsheets) are used given modern day technology?

I guess we'll see if this is true. I'm in my late fifties as are others and we survived the layoff. Not sure if there will be another round as hinted to on this board.

The leaders are all business majors that learned accounting and how to balance accounting spreadsheets. Every decision is based on cost only the lowest cost issues are addressed. Spreadsheet management is rampant the company lives by spreadsheets. Every project every decision everything based on how much will this cost.
HR provides spreadsheets with employees job grade pay and age, the higher the pay grade and older in age the employee very high probability they will not be employed at Dell with the current marching orders.
