Houston HP person here. Been hearing rumors of HQ moving here for the last few months. Houston Site Council refuses to answer what's going on with renovation on the top floor of one of our buildings. People speculate that it's being renovated for executive/C-Suite/BOD conferencing. I also heard of a possibility of a complete remodel of the Houston site. Right now, our automatic doors keep breaking and the insulation is terrible. It sounds like a train whistle on the first floor all day because of poor airflow of hot and cold air in the building. There's a lot of issues with this four year old building. It felt like construction was rushed. Along with rumors of remodeling, speculation of 100% hybrid workplace is also rumored where lab spaces are expanded and more conference rooms and less desk space. We'll see...
Heard about Boise being a ghost town and Palo Alto even more so. I know a colleague of mine who visited HQ recently they told me that you wouldn't even know HP is there. Tesla subleases 5 out of 8 of the buildings and the rest are used for small businesses. It was pretty empty before covid and now it's even more empty.
Houston can get crowded intermittently but I can still park on the second floor of the parking garage very easily. Houston Site Council is trying very hard to get us on campus with events. It's not entirely effective.
Fun fact, our website only lists Palo Alto and Houston as the only US offices.
I don't know anything about Ft. Collins.
C-Suite and BOD is cooking up something but it's very difficult to tell.
