For those of us who are left, it is about time that we focused on doing things that actually contribute to revenue. (not that I've seen that consolidation yet, but hopefully it will come soon).
For too long we've worked on whatever whim senior management wanted regardless of whether it would be something that might generate revenue and profit (you remember that? The whole point we're here?)
A lot of what I've seen across the valley seems to be a refocusing on actually running a business. What I'm worried about is much of senior management in tech (including possibly ours) haven't ever had to run a "real" business before. And if this turns into a death-spiral of investment, then perhaps it will get worse.
