Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

Leadership does not think long term

If this leadership had any long term plans, the atmosphere here would be very different. Maybe I'm wrong, but they seem to have absolutely no vision for this company? Sometimes I think that we, the employees, care more about the future of the company than those at the top.

There's a decent chance giant eagle won't be around or at least won't have as big a presence in 10 years. Meijer scares the cr-p out of Giant Eagle cuz they're a better grocery store chain. As far as executives asking what can the employees do for the company. You can kiss my a$$💋 I'm not doing $hit for this shady company.

Let's face it...the only reason for the recent positive performance was because of the world's situation. If you notice, once things began returning to normal, the holes in the ship began leaking again and now we're back where we were.

Covid just covered up the incompetence for a couple of years.

Giant Eagle has changed its way of thinking years ago. Now during every Executive board meeting the first thing that is discussed is “What have our employees done for us lately”
