Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Field workers

Another field worker leaving…I know he’s just a number to Findlay but it could have been prevented. Maybe eventually Marathon will wake up and realize the value of the people that work for them…but we all know that won’t happen.

They may not care in corporate but a good portion of the refineries are hurting. We have started to see some changes in how management reacts to people quitting. Employees they want to retain they are doing some off cycle promotions or getting them into jobs they like. It’s something but it’s not enough. The majority of the salaried workforce seems to feel underpaid compared to oil and gas and tech companies. We’ve been losing so many to tech companies.

Seems like that’s what they want.

Now that MPC has offices outside of Findlay, it’s going to be harder to retain talent. Probably one reason they don’t want to leave Findlay, they have a captured pool of talent.

Not as good as the talent pool out West or in Texas but a talent pool nonetheless.

They don’t care. They have an employee feed stream from families, Cooper Tire and college. They could care less and that’s VERY evident in your exit interview.
