Most of us do not feel safe in our stores. That much is evident. However, I am interested in why Macy's does nothing to create safer stores? Are we so unimportant to them? Or is the leadership viewing safety more as an excessive expense than as an investment?

Wow, that thing at the mall of georgia was bad, checked the article on google and now really concerned about not having any security in our store. Looks like the only commitment to safety at Macy's is the signing and announcements about the commitment to safety at Macy's.
Google macys buckland, click news. Google macys mall of georgia, click news...
That's just it--for what they pay. You will not have strong applicant flow. Then you may one one person working that will run thin after a short time. Then frustration and they leave.
What is Macys doing with the lack of AP presence in these stores? Sabotaging your own sites which is ridiculous. $30000 theft in Jewelry yesterday in one of the stores I service. Complete lack of responsibility shame on Macys once again for not considering the safety of their store personnel. More people including Managers need to complain to upper level Execs to increase AP staff. For what Macys pays you won’t break the bank. Other retailers can provide Security why can’t you??
I dont feel safe with the ceo at the wheel
I don’t get customers or associates who try to be “heros” why risk your life for some cheap Chinese made goods? I used to say, take whatever you want, they don’t pay me enough to be a hero.
My store is being taken to the cleaners by shoplifters. The POLO department and womans and mens active are the main targets. We have no security in our stores. You can't stop anyone because Macys was sued by Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson's groups for "Supposed" racial profiling years ago. The effect of that is now clear. Remember the ANTFA riots. Let them burn down a few blocks loot a few stores get it out of their system. That has turned into a cottage industry. My store is afraid to put our new POLO on the floor it will be gone in a week. This is the NWO you all voted for. I myself carry mace IN the store. Good Luck to all of you
There was a customer who stopped a shop lifter...she saw her stuff clothes in a bag. She screamed at her to stop stealing....
I was in Macys last weekend, a gang of thieves walked out of the store loaded with Kors bags and clothing. They knocked customers over as they were leaving, elderly lady was pushed over by one of the thugs. I didnt feel safe at all in the store and left immediately.
You know who feels safe in our stores, the shoplifters. We don't have AP in our building. The Home Depot, Target, and Walmart next door have all increased their AP coverage and invested in more cameras, better technology, and even security guards at the Walmart.
So where do all of the lifters come for easy pickings, that's right, our store that doesn't have AP except for visiting traveling detectives, a team that is almost never staffed and full of open positions. Even when the traveling team is staffed, they spend most of their time at the big stores that already have an AP team. We just let the scammers, grab and run artists, and regular lifters come in and take whatever they want.
Good luck on finding your picks for customer orders, most likely been stolen. Nobody cares, might run afoul of some social program the company is busy shelling out millions to support. Money for AP, nope, money for a Teams call to learn about social ills, yep. Easy when you sit in an office or work from home. Come on out to a store in the bad part of town on a Friday night and try to "offer help" to someone who is clearly stealing. Ask the last manager who tried that how it turned out if he ever comes back to work.
Can you elaborate why you don't feel safe in your stores?
If employees aren't safe, I assume customers are not, either?
