Hounded for donations

What other store is getting hounded for donations every time the company is promoting some charity? Usually its the local chapter of United Way, The Big Give Back etc. Our managers will buy food, take over the associate entrance and the breakroom, and theoretically try to shove food down your throat so you cough up the $5-6 they want from you to donate. And i am really surprised they go as far as to accept CashApp payments. A bunch of other associates have voiced concern about these fundraising tactics. I'm all for fundraising, but they need to relax with the hounding, many feel cornered and then get looks if they don't "donate". Where is that money going to? When you can set up your own payroll deduction to the charity of your choice....

Our manager in a N.Cal store says the DVP is relentless in his push to be #1 in giving in the company and we are expected to hound everyone to make a contribution. What a joke, we don't make enough to take save money for hard times let alone contribute so the ego nut job can once again hold up his finger and be the best at something that does help the people who work for him.

Donate a $1. You've participated. Hounding done. People leader will make up the monetary difference if they want to achieve the goal for the store.

That's true Asset Protection will target associates to reach there goal vs last year. There first job is to catch internal theft in the store, either over rights prices on the registers or taking long breaks over 30 minutes. They will allow you to do it for a long period of time and then without warning LP will catch a associate commiting time fraud. They have everything documented since you started violating a company policy.

I've said this before... It's all about the stats. Just like in sales the numbers have to improve. In Loss Prevention, they have to show improvement vs last year... If they must target associates to do so, they will. The management Give Back committee also has to beat last years numbers or at least beat the other districts to look good, hence the feeling of being forced to donate. There are trackers to see who participate and ways to make you feel alienated if you dont. Macy's prides themselves as a giving company at the sacrifice of it's workers. If you dont participate, the red badges and store manager will fill in the monetary gaps if they really want to achieve their targets - so dont worry. As for Asset Protection, they've lost all ethics in reaching their goals.
