Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

I feel stuck in limbo

We are stuck in place with constant useless reorganizations and constant layoffs and threats of layoffs while anything that could move the company forward gets ignored. I'm so tired of this cr-p and I wish I had left when the job market was on fire. I've been trying to find something new in the last several months but I've had no luck. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take before I leave, whether I find a new job or not.

Highly recommend that you start looking now before the end of the year. Be prepared for anything in the next two months. Best thing though is BE PREPARED!

Elliott/Vista better have their "plans" finalized by EOY because the company has be operating in limbo mode for about 9 months now and morale is in the toilet.

If they cannot get their new plans and workflows right off the bat of 2023 there will be more attrition. There is also concern of what will replace VCIP, will benefits change, and what will replace ESPP and RSU grants.

You said, "I'm not sure how much more of this I can take before I leave, whether I find a new job or not."

Be cool, just take it one day at a time. You'll find a new job, at a company that has a future with growth prospects, just like the many ex-Citrix employees who left before you. Be patient, and focus on your skill strengths. Best of luck to you!

You are definitely not alone. Stuck in limbo and also feel like a dummy for not jumping ship earlier.

Reach out to contacts in other companies if you have any. An internal referral would almost guarantee an interview. Make sure your resume looks good... perhaps have someone else take a look. Make sure you modify the resume to match what the other company is looking for. Meaning, you may need to reword certain things so the recruiters can see you have the skills they are looking for.

Don’t leave without having secured a replacement job. It is best to negotiate for your next job from a position of power while you have a job than if you are unemployed. Recruiters typically see an employed person as being stronger than an unemployed person. I know it sucks, but hang in there and keep interviewing. It is also a good idea to check with your network to see if you can get an in that way into your next job.

You have to figure out how to get another job, because there is no future at Citrix. It is a dying brand.
