Hey all,
I have a friend that's entertaining the idea of joining the company. I've been away from the co for a while now do don't have insight on if it's a good idea or not. Can folks at HQ chime in and provide comments? Good or bad!
Maybe just provide a number from 1 to 10 where 1 is absolutely no and 10 is definitely.

To the person who said not the best place to get an unbiased opinion. Definitely the place to get an honest opinion though. People who have obviously worked for Staples are commenting here. Some good and mostly bad. I have worked for Staples over 20 years. I know a fair amount about this company well before SP and JL. I've seen the good, the bad and the downright nasty. Don't encourage your friends to work for Staples

I recommend the marketing team. I am learning a lot from amazing leadership. Every week, I hear about how amazing the leader thinks she is!

If you care about your friend absolutely not. That place is toxic. There are way better companies to work for, and with better pay and bennies.
If you are out of work and want a full paycheck while you are looking for a new job, go work for staples. Otherwise, run.
Don't let anyone you care about work for Staples. It's true they would be doing the work of multiple people until they are worn down and worn out. Once they use you they cut you loose without a second thought. It used to be a company employees cared about, now it's a company that makes you afraid you are the next in line to be let go. Everyone is taking on more responsibility because the co worker who was there Monday was let go on Wednesday and you've got your work to do plus their's as well. Upper management doesn't give a rat's a-s how hard you work, because you're replaceable

Years ago the company was a 10. It has changed so much over the past several years. Constant management changes and promoting people who have no business being promoted. Laying off hard working employees and keeping the ones who complain constantly and don’t deserve to be there. Today I would say 1.
