The top brass know they are not paying enough. That's why they have to offer $15k+ hiring bonuses in some locations. FLS talent is allowed to walk and no attempts are made to retain them. This is a controlled demolition in order to squeeze every last penny of profit out of the sponge. When the company implodes due to a lack of workers, they will gladly take bail out money from the government.

As workers, the chips are stacked against us. BNSF wins regardless of what happens. Sh---y contract from the PEB and more people quit. This eliminates legacy costs for them (insurance, pension, 401k for exempts, etc) Good PEB contract and they can lock us out. Win either way for BNSF as they can just hire contractors for cheap.

I could go on, but hopefully you get the idea of what's happening here. Plan your escape route. Go back to school and get a degree. Lots of affordable options with flexible schedules at your local technical college.

"The Carriers maintain that capital investment and risk are the reasons for their profits, not
any contributions by labor."

PEB recommendations : page 32.

Hilarious how they parade their profits. But yet act like employees wanting a decent wage will bankrupt them. We will see what the PEB decides tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm sure both sides won't agree to it. Then we will go the thirty day period.

14 percent, 6.6 billion dollars in revenue in the first two quarters. And they want to give us an 11 percent raise with drastic increases in our monthly medical, plus large increases in our out-of-pocket medical expenses.
Depending on what comes of this contract, BNSF might be looking for a lot of new hires.
