Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

best strategy to get laid off

I want to get laid off, do y'all think that telling my manager that I am going to leave anyway if I am not cut in the next round will help? My thought is that my boss might prefer to help get me cut than be forced to cut someone else who might otherwise have stayed on.

Don't do that. Plan ahead if you got laid of consider the money a bonus. You can't plan what will happen.

in 2017 my manager, director and vp all got laid off and i didn't. There's a good chance in these upcoming layoffs your manager won't have any influence on whether you stay or go.

Consider this first. Your inept Citrix director or middle manager will likely be terminated for poor performance once the new leadership (hired by Tom Krause) is put in place. The new CEO knows (based on his track record of acquiring other legacy companies) that he doesn't need to offer a package to habitual poor performers.

So, once they're gone, then will the employee layoffs start again. Be patient...

if there is no voluntary layoff plan in place at the company, I would keep quiet

LOL. Bad idea. "If you don't lay me off, I'm quitting." They will simply fire you, and you won't get any severance.

Of course, you never know - your boss might get laid off, too.

Why don't you just email your boss and cc: HR that you want to be laid off? That should do it.
