Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

What is the salary cap per hour at Macys?

I heard for a regular sales associate that the most you can make is $20 an hour and that is the maximum and that you cannot make anymore. Keep in mind this is for
non-commission. I know cosmetics and fragrance associates who are making $22-24 an hour without commission. I am asking because I see some new hires they are hiring at $19 an hour. I’ve been working here for about 8-9 years and I am only making $16 something. I am looking for new jobs cuz this is the last straw for me. Seeing all these new hires that they are hiring at a much higher pay.

Glad to see that horrible and so unethical manager is gone from the second floor . She got away with so much . Can't believe she was able to stay as long as she did . I worked with her for about 4 years and left. I couldn't tolerate how she got away with treating associates so bad . She was mean and unkind . Only out for herself. She was nothing but a B.... she has nerve to accept a pay check ... OUTRAGEOUS!!!

$20 x 40 hrs x 52 weeks = $41,600

Who would work for a
Company that has a pay cap AT $41,600 for full time?

I’m speechless

Folks it’s 2022, most companies in the United States will START you at $41k

I can’t believe someone who has worked for Macy’s full time for over five or more years is making under $41,000, Completely unbelievable that people are that naive and companies are that crooked.

New Visual Captains in NJ are making $26/ hr. I doubt they raised the wages of the ones that were there for years.

Correction! Ethical companies do not pay newly hired hourly employees more than tenured hourly employees. They do that with management and executive positions but not hourly.

Macy’s is the only retailer I know of that does this. The reason they do this ? They are unethical at every layer of management up to the top of the organization.

Even Wal-Mart adjusted the wages of their tenured employees in order to be fair and equitable. They do not pay new hires the same as tenured hourly employees.

The problem is nobody wants to work for Macy’s. Just wait until the big holiday hiring push Macy’s will do the same as previous years and will be paying premium for subpar workers.
Look at the quality of people they are hiring now. They do not want to do physical work and they don’t want to work weekends or nights.
The whole ISM situation is laughable 😂🤣

Nope, they are giving them more hours also. And plus, you can always pick up shifts. People are always advertising shifts and there is always something to pick up. And what does it matter if they work less hours, either way they will be making more money than me working less hours. Totally unfair and unethical to do this by such a large margin.
