Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

You did yourself a favor by leaving!

Getting promoted at Frontier, thanks to your hard work, dedication and commitment only, is almost impossible. Am I wrong? This is where the careers come to die. Those who left and accepted even lower-paid jobs, have progressed in the meantime and are now much better off than they were here, while the rest of us are still stuck and stagnating here.

No thanks, would never join a Union. They just hold you down to support more union subs.

As for the facts, seriously guys. I have them on my screen right now. Let's get together and just lay them out. There's nothing to be afraid of even if you don't like the answers.

They don't have to physically wear a suit to be a "suit". As for your claims of non-facts, I guess if you say it enough you'll start to believe it. However it is a FACT: Anyone reading this can call in to find out how many days out their appointment will be. Fact: Anyone can easily find the executive compensation rates vs: the hourly compensation rates, and with a little research could probably also see the glaring disparity in raise amounts and frequencies. If they want a real laugh, they can look up the bonuses and how (or in hourly employees case, IF) they are decided.

You would suggest a little mutual respect, would you? I could suggest the same, especially when it comes to the complete disrespect received from the company bargaining reps in several contentious contract negotiations. The nonsense they come up with and the benefits they have been gunning for are the epitome of DISrespect. I have the utmost respect for my union brothers and sisters, where it belongs. What I have no respect for, is the company farming more and more job functions to off shore call centers, which I notice you strategically omit from your "non-fact" claims. That's clearly because there is simply no way to explain this utter slap in the face to the hundreds of people formerly employed in the call centers that have been closed. I do not have exact numbers, but I am willing to bet it didn't cost anywhere close to the 48 million paid as perks to a handful of execs, to keep those call centers running.

Their objective seems crystal clear to me, we're being liquidated. They just sold the building in CT. for $78 million, while out the other side of their mouths they still claim poverty in the ongoing California contract negotiations. They are selling off properties left and right, and leasing them back from the buyer. That alone seems suspect, because who spends that much for a building just to lease it out? How much rent do they pay? They've done this across the country, always with a willing landlord to lease the building back to them. It's a lot easier to get out of a lease than it is to unload a bunch of creepy old phone company buildings, say if a select few want to (allegedly) take some money and run...

Sorry, what things are starting to improve? I've got almost 19 years seniority and they force me to pay more and more for my medical coverage while the suits who haven't worked a day in their lives and maybe have ONE year seniority collectively, get better benefits totally paid for. Our wages have been intentionally stagnated, while the cost of living has skyrocketed. The only thing that keeps up with inflation is the pay increases of the executives. They keep closing offices, refusing to backfill with union bodies, while the number of contractors keeps increasing. They have frozen our ability to transfer to other workgroups, and constantly violate MOA's and contracts. What is improving? Things aren't any better for the customers either. Contractors are untrained and doing sub par installs, and the go back rate on their repairs is laughable. We are backlogged to ridiculous levels virtually everywhere, making for multiple week waiting for most services. The new escalation process promises to only frustrate the customers more, because now all they are getting is scripted excuses for why we cannot provide sooner dates.

If you really see this sh*t show as improving, you are either one of the shiny suits with a golden umbrella package (so what do you care anyway?), or you're a delusional nit wit.

Another fine non-fact based comment. It is, however, a fact that Union Healthcare benefits are a multiple of the non-union equivalent. So if anything these should be cut or the non-union benefits increased.

I'd also suggest a little mutual respect. The Field team mostly do a great job and have valuable skills. The 'suits' as you call them (no one wears a suit anymore btw) are also mostly professionals who have dedicated their life to developing the skills needed to run a company. Both are mostly good, both are necessary and there is only one company.
