We need a cost of living increase, real raises, better scheduling and more associates on the floor. For too long this company(especially under marvins "leadership") has pulled all of the resources out of the stores to either make the numbers look good or fund some pet project. We get 1% raises(if any), overworked and stores that are hot and humid. These are terrible working conditions that are only going to be made better with a union to act as a check and balance on the corporate executives. For those who say just quit and go somewhere else, why should we have to start over again just to have the same thing happen again?

Honestly if you really wanna hit them hard go on Glassdoor.com and indeed and take the surveys and tank the company’s image. We have a 3/5 score for the whole company and ol Melvin has a 65% approval rating, plus he’s in all these magazines and stuff. Go to these sites and let people see what a horrible company this is to work for.
I tried to warn my coworkers about the shot..they took it anyway. Every day I was shunned like a leper..laughed at. This isn't political people. You were lied to. Make the most of what time you have left.
You really need to focus on your own survival now. Things are about to get real. The economy is tanking. There's bigger issues at play than unionizing. Try to get as self sufficient as possible, get whatever groceries, toiletries, medications, even shoes and clothing you need for the future, now. Prices are only going up, while availability is going down. Please, please, please--get ready. The world is getting ready to change.
Here we go again…..
If a couple hundred stores unionize, they'll have no choice but to listen to us.
Any location that tries to unionize will be shut down due to "lack of profitability" or "unsafe" work environment. Look it up. Look at Amazon, Starbucks, Amy's Kitchen (San Jose). I'm sure there are more out there. The names I listed are the ones that made headlines.
- 5% unemployment rate...must be a few jobs open these days.
With the way the economy is going you may not have a job soon.
