Boeing is like the Post Office, a terminal, dysfunctional mess, but is always kept alive on life support with IV's of taxpayer money.

Uncle Sam keeps this place alive....just like GE...PRATT....pick one.
Boeing won't survive for much longer. No longer competitive or even relevant. Too many big program problems causing increased debt and little profit margin with any of their products.
Boeing is one hiccup or plane crash away from bankruptcy.
Wine has benefited from the military industrial complex. The government spends millions of dollars on high-tech materials and manufacturing methods to use on their military aircraft. Engineers who move between companies bring those methods and design techniques with them.
The only problem is the defense industry is shrinking and engineers do not move between companies to the same degree due to Boeing laying off the majority of their contract labor.
It makes it much more difficult for Boeing to exploit the research and development money spent to develop military airplanes. Particularly since they rarely ever win any new contracts.
It had been almost like a taxpayer supported industry due to the large amount of research and development money spent by the government.
However Boeing doesn’t see any value in hiring older experienced engineers from other companies and wants to only hire level one engineers and places on Moscow and pay them a Pentance. It’s like they’ve completely forgotten what made them a great company.
