Thread regarding SAP layoffs

What really happened to Paoni?

Does anyone know why DJ Paoni really left SAP? The note about his leaving said he was "retiring" from SAP.

I guess anything is possible, but he is 49 or 50 years old and he is retiring? Maybe so? I guess we will find out soon enough. If he shows up at another company in a month or two, and if so, then we know it was not a retirement but a push out.

In meantime wondering if his departure is connected to the lackluster financial performance results and sales deals that have little to no profit in them?

Despite his "retirement" and nice guy speech on Linkedin, Paoni was never the most engaging person. It was always about him and putting money in his pocket. If there was small talk it was for his benefit. Never wish bad on anyone but I am not suprised he got sick because all he thought about was SAP 24 7.

Take a breath everyone. The man had a stroke. It was announced, he had an internal video with special glasses because his eyesight is affected. The question should be, why are so many healthy people having strokes now??

People - the man had a stroke and is at least partially blind now. The exit was due to health.

How can the company perform when hiring and firing selection are all based on cronies network? Oh, promotions too.

Been with SAP for 25 years and no one( and I mean absolutely No one) has lasted in this sales job for more than a couple of years ( pretty sad statement on how people are selected for such prominent roles in the first place)

But what happened here is he got taken out pretty quickly and without another job to fall into ( he's not even 50 and supposedly retiring ??) and so out of courtesy they say he is retiring - this has been done many times before. I am sure he will show up someplace else in few months.

I suspect he is gone because the deals and the numbers were not favorable and like always there is a knee jerk reaction to get rid of one person and bring in another. Hasn't worked in all the years I've been here, and doubt it will work in this case either. There are some others who should have joined him in walking out the front door, but they always go for the scapegoat.

Paoni lives in Chicago, Illinois and the recent winner of the $1.3 B  Mega Million Jackpot was from Illinois.     I knew it was him who won the lottery when I heard he was leaving right after the drawing.     Congrats to DJ !!

Com'on dude get real.   No one lasts in that sales job.  Not McDermott,  or Morgan,  or Enslin,  or Fox-Martin - all of them got pushed out  and so did Paoni.

They are dialing for dollars,  hoping somebody will have the magic potion to finally turn a profit and they keep coming up empty. How can you run an organization when you have a new head every 24 months....?
