Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

This company is drowning in apathy.

It seems like the longer you work here, the more apathetic you become.

Most colleagues I speak to have lost all enthusiasm for work, as there is no longer much incentive to work hard.

The once great pay and benefits have been outpaced by parallel or related industries. The company is actively destroying the environment for future generations. Bullying, racism and favoritism is the defining feature of most offices.

Is this the first signs of a dying company in a dying industry? Is it even possible to fix this? Or will ENB be happy letting this happen.

In my experience, the only people who want a 100% in-office policy are the ones who know their careers are in jeopardy as it is easier to manipulate and play games/politics/intimidate in person. They also rarely do sh1t and are always taking take credit for things they never had any involvement in. I enjoy hybrid, personally. Love the routine downtown but also can get my job done and home in my shorts. It has been fun watching some of the people mentioned above squirm and working from home not being able to bully and cruise through the day :)

Is Asset Performance white? Anyone in our group that matters, is.

The problem is systemic. Those making the decisions don't have the experience or ability to do what is best for the company. They're making changes based on nothing. There was a wealth of knowledge that already left. Instead of putting who is best in certain roles, they just shuffled around bodies and hoped for the best. It's too late to scale back now. The Titanic is headed for the iceberg and we can all see it. You can jump off and swim, or you can wait for the crash, and grab wreckage and float around. It's unfortunate that anyone has to make such a decision.

I recently left to go to Shopify, the pay and benefits are better, plus 100% remote work !! Very happy with my decision.

The morale is unbelievable low throughout legacy UG. Virtually everyone you speak to anymore says they do not care. The pay and benefits has slowly slid away and HR will tell you they pay for the middle of equivalent job market.
Median pay and benefits yet try to attract and retain great people.
Not a formula to keep the Enbridge boat afloat much longer.
If not looking to leave should should be….like me.

Im ashamed of being associated with EGD. Actively on the hunt for a job in other energy companies not tied to fossil fuels. The pay and benefits are only great for people with not much choice as they are not marketable

The most racism and favouritism happening in the Waterloo office. They have been a bad influence in the entire region.
