Shell to give staff 8% bonus after record profits

Don't worry ya'll, we're doing another $5B in buy backs; think of the shareholder value!

“In recognition of the contribution our people have made to Shell’s strong operational performance against a recent challenging backdrop, our executive committee has decided to make a special recognition award of 8% of salary to all eligible staff across the world."

“The award enables those employees to share in our current operational and financial success – it is not a response to inflation or cost of living challenges.”

Andeavor talent is getting paid more than what used to pass as talent at MPC. Retention bonuses were just the start, off cycle raises followed, and now getting free $25K worth of stock that vests in 3 years.

LOL at the haters and their bottles of bitterade.

The desperate compensation talk on the CEO town hall was something... Can't compare our bonus to xom when they pay higher base than we do base+bonus.

As most of the Andeavor talent said...buh byeeee

Who the heck would want to work for a good ole boy company with rampant nepotism and a misplaced superiority complex.

Just look at how much success the execs from Andeavor are doing after taking a HARD pass on MPC. Heard from a former Andeavor exec about a dinner with MPC C-Level execs, the CEO asked the room about how excited everyone was about the merger and who was looking forward to making the move to Findlay...crickets...and there was obvious displeasure on the face of the CEO.

LOL!

I know exactly the executive who made that comment. It was done in with several Andeavor people in the room (myself included). You might find it funny, I see it as one of many examples why MPC is such a joke of a company.

MPC is overall a good company to work for, but it has never had a strong family culture. Family is a term used to exploit employees and justify unpaid overtime. Short staffing and ridiculous amounts of overtime for salaried employees was the norm long before any acquisitions or mergers. Mr Heminger said at a town hall that they purposely hired less people than needed so that they wouldn’t have to let anyone go during a downturn. Many of the people that had worked crazy hours for decades to support this theory were let go unceremoniously in 2020. It is a job, the company is not your family and feels no loyalty to you. Therefore, we should work where the pay and benefits are the best, and the situation is best for us personally. If that is MPC, great. If not, great. SNS.

As one of our executives once said, Andeavor was a reWHINERY company. Ha

Everyone needs to stop comparing us to other companies. What is always not mentioned is our strong family culture and being and being the best refining company out there. I wouldn’t change my job with Marathon for anything. If you don’t like working here, or came in from the outside and think your old company was better just leave.

Is the free pizza during a refinery upset not enough for you people?
