This place is not bad for everyone. Some are very resourceful and have managed to become very comfortable here and not stress much, while at the same time not doing much.
How did they learn to play the game? I am more and more of the opinion that it's something that cannot be learned, but it just takes a certain type of person to pull it off.

The game is called who can swallow the managers hot dog
I'd have to agree with the person saying others not giving a sh-t! It's us vs. them, boots vs. suits, or however you'd like to describe it. Another way to describe the ones that move up the corporate ladder is about how far they can bury their nose in an executives a-s. Get rid of the executives, and refill those positions with the people who have actual hands on railroad experience. If the RR's were to ever do that, then the problems would be minor. You can't run a RR from an office chair!
Yeah, it’s called not giving a s***. It goes a long way in life.
My pronoun is Mr. Fix it and I drink Gatorade.
Let’s be honest here. Today anyone who fits the new favorite corporate demographic, i.e. diversity, equity, and inclusion, goes to the head of the line. And you better be well versed on the proper chosen pronoun of said demographic Mr. 30 year railroader ! Now that we have established this fact, let’s move on to the kool aid flow chart. Do you like it ? If no, then go back to start. If yes, move up to a higher level of psr. 30 year railroaders have been documented to have an extremely profound distaste for the stuff. Its in their dna , because it conflicts with actual real world boots on the ground railroading. There is also a known positive correlation of increased years of service to greater dislike of kool aid. Now lets move on to the conscience flow chart. Do you have one ? If you answer yes, go back to start. If you answer no, move on up to a higher level of psr ! This should cover at LEAST 80% of the people who have managed to “pull it off”.
? Playing games? We are paid to work and do our jobs.
