Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

How will 2u treat you now?

It's inevitable that everyone's job here is on the block. Ask yourself this question.. there's been some senior management changes shortly before this news was released. If your department has lost people and they haven't been replaced, who is going to pick up slack and who is ultimately going to bear the burden? You will be working harder, be under more scrutiny, and if you're lucky enough to be student or faculty facing, you will be exhausted from trying to extinguish fires all day long. Sound fun? What if senior management has been groomed to expect this and has no contingency plan in place? Sounds like setup for failure? It is. The plan is to make your lives so miserable that you quit so that there is no severance package. Teams are then adjusted to acclimate to the volume necessary to continue the function until it's no longer needed.

Well, it is already a pressure cooker in admissions. People are being moved around and people are quitting with no backfill. They are riding the A/Cs about making 70 plus calls a day when you are running around like a chicken without a head trying to take care of all the fires, handling the incoming calls, and picking up the slack for those that have left instead of concentrating on getting students through the funnel. Maybe getting layed off with a severance package is a blessing in disguise. Sad what is happening at 2U.
