The reason we are in this mess is that they now have practically teenagers doing all the buying and very few DMM’s were ever buyers so they can’t teach. They were buying like they were drunk and now the recession is here and people have no money.

How much do you want to bet that it will be overwhelmingly white old guys who are cut and then if anything is left, white older women? While we keep hearing about white privilege, #MinorityPrivliege marches on.

Walmart is destroying itself like other corporations - who are terrified of being labeled/stigmatized by the fake righteous woke Marxist, truly racist crowd who cloak their wickedness with fake righteousness/virtue grifting ppl and businesses out of their cash - while living in million dollar homes. Have they learned nothing from the other businesses that have gone down this path trying to pander to this movement that are losing money because of it? ? NOPE.

Walmart lacks the leadership to deliver Shareholder returns so they blame their workforce and keep layering on the top of the pyramid and offering fat executive salaries to robots that worked for dis functional government and failing companies to come in and further sc--w up our company. We need Executives that can return Shareholder value 1st instead of padding their own salaries. Time for Doug to go!!! Sam would have kicked his a-s to the curb two years ago! N

The home office technology people do nothing but buy tech from of people. We could eliminate 2/3rds and still get the work done. Lots of political cronies. And the legal department is the worst of all, full of useless affirmative action hires that spend their days worried about social justice. One the attorneys ran a law firm on the side. She was the queen of social justice and all those in authority ignored the huge ethics violations caused by her behavior. The head of legal is a political hack who used to work in the justice department, with no “real” legal experience. This pattern repeats itself throughput the company. One disaster after another. The store managers keep the company afloat. Home office is political circle jerk.

We have the worst people in tech as it is… the wire is terrible, logging in is terrible, the cellphones they gave us suck, the apps are terrible, support sucks. Who in home office thought these people were doing a good job need to be let go too. Literally the worst tech people in the industry so it’s really no loss at this point. Maybe the people left will actually step up…doubtful though.

Bloomberg Financial News: Walmart Cuts 200 Corporate Jobs as Costs, Inventory Sap Profit

  • Pay Wall: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-08-03/walmart-cuts-about-200-corporate-jobs-in-streamlining-effort
- Technology, merchandising positions said to be affected
- Retail giant cut profit forecast last week amid spending shift
Walmart Inc. is eliminating about 200 corporate jobs as it contends with rising costs, bloated inventories and weakening demand for general merchandise.
The cuts include staffers in merchandising and technology, said people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named because the matter is private. Walmart will also add an unspecified number of jobs in areas such as e-commerce, health and wellness, ad sales and supply chain, said one of the people.
“We’re updating our structure and evolving select roles to provide clarity and better position the company for a strong future,” the company said in an email. “At the same time, we’re further investing in key areas and creating new roles to support our growing number of services for our customers, suppliers and the business community.”
The retail giant is tightening its belt a week after slashing its annual profit forecast for the second time in less than three months. US consumers are buying less clothing and durable goods as soaring inflation raises the cost of food and basic items. That’s prompting Walmart to cut prices on general merchandise even as grocery sales -- which are less profitable for the retailer -- continue to soar.
