I'm a recent hire at HQ and I really hate the job. It's very toxic and political. Unfortunately I moved from out of state and bounded to relocation repayment clause. I wish I get laid off. Does anyone know whether lay off is coming?

This is the time of year that, in the past decade or so, all Big Box retailers look to cook the books by cutting payroll.
I started with Di-k's in early 1996, was fulltime on the sales floor until Ed and his cronies cooked the books by cutting full time to 30 hours a week in 2002 to go public. I was getting OT every week, as my sales supported the hours. That was when FT was guaranteed no less than 37 1/2 hours a week. My SM protected me as long as they could, but got a new By The Book DM and I got a new job. I did stay with Di-k's another couple of years as a part timer, needed the money as my wife was out of work due to chronic illness.
My current Big Box employer, one of the home improvement chains, is cutting hours to make the end of the quarter numbers look better. Wife has been back to work a good while, so we'll get by okay.
Not sure about layoffs, but it wouldn't surprise me if they made some cuts (they typically do this every few years, and it's been just over 2 years since the last major layoffs). But you should look for another job if you are unhappy - there is still work available in many fields. Management and HR don't always reinforce the repayment clause for relocation, especially if it just wasn't working out for either side.
Talk to your HR Manager regarding your concerns. Be honest about what your feeling and transparent. If you are terminated you’ll have to pay back relo but ask about waving repayment if you resign.
