Thread regarding Textron layoffs

Almost no one wants to work here anymore

I'm not at all proud of the fact that I'm still here. I have spoken to some young people for whom this is the last option they consider when looking for a job. I wonder what the leadership can do to make the company more attractive for new hires? It's sad to watch the company sinking.

Aviation manufacturers r a beast all their own. All Aviation manufacturers operate the same. If u don't like it, then don't get into manufacturing. It's not an office job, if that is what u r looking for, look elsewhere. Been in Aviation for 30 years....nothing has changed, and u won't change it.

I work for a company now that the average age is probably 25-28. It’s a multi-billion dollar company that people love coming to. I don’t think it is as much an issue of young people not wanting to work hard, but more of an issue of young people want to feel a mission for what they are doing and feel more appreciation. Companies are able to be both profitable and show appreciation for their employees. Textron has focused on keeping all that stuff down, and just higher young and keep them until they learn how much better there is out there and leave, and do it all over again. It’s a dying dinosaur culture. Over half of the SLT is on the downslope to retirement, and are focused on the bare minimum that gets them to that

I agree with what uncle Vinny said. The younger generation are afraid of hard work.

So tired of posts like this...u go to work...u do ur job...u get paid...sometimes u enjoy ur day...sometimes u don't...if u want to enjoy everyday then work for a family owned business and get paid less. It's a tradeoff...get use to it.
