Boeing is going downhill fast. I've been there for nearly a decade so it wasn't easy to make the decision to leave, but once I did, I realized it was the only good option available. There is no bright future for Boeing, even its staunchest cheerleaders must see that. Instead of hating your life there, do as I did and leave. Your life will improve immensely.

Why? Easy job and high pay. Hard to beat that.
I was laid off from Boeing in 2020. Found a new job pretty fast. Came back to Boeing for a MUCH better pay. I have enough years with Boeing to be considered as 'endangered', but I am taking my chances. Boeing pays well - comparable to other companies (and even better than many). I cannot say I enjoy the ride - I am interviewing outside. But, I feel pretty comfortable. Not to mention that when Boeing does lay off its people, the layoff benefits are pretty good. Overall, however, if you are young and look for excitement and indeed want to make a difference - The Boeing Company is not the place to be.
The more years you work at Boeing the more likely you are to be laid off. The smart move is just what you did, leave on your own terms instead of Boeing‘s.
Boeing lays off at the worst possible time to be looking for a job usually. And it’s almost guaranteed after 10 or 15 years that you will be laid off at the next major layoff To be replaced with some level one engineer out of college with no experience but is cheaper.
Havent checked this in years and now I see morale is still in the toilet. Im a former boeing employee I was so sick of boeings bs I took the first VLO offered back in June of 2020. My life has improved so much now I have a job I enjoy way more and I make more money. If you're even thinking about it I'd highly recommend coming up with a plan then quitting. Be smart update your resume and either find another job or at least dont tell anyone until you're ready to give your 2 weeks notice. And obviously don't get fired lol for one thing you'll lose boeing's contributions to your retirement plan. Good luck
I bailed out of Boeing after a year and a half, the woman who sat behind me bailed after six months, it was a joke and waste of time. There are only so many years to have a career.
