CULTURE PULSE SURVEY COMING UP

With the CPS coming up, I'm interested on how the questions will be directed/worded to. I know last time, we were only allowed to answer how we felt about just our store in general, not the company as a whole. And not much in regards to comment. Hopefully collegues will answer truthfully so the company can really take notice!

Macy’s can’t handle the truth.

100% Correct--->Because the store manager goes nuts every year trying to guess who said stuff! If you type a comment telling the same story you always tell the same way, they'll know it's you.

The issue of being anonymous is just that. The same associates complain about the same issues each year (offering silly solution's). The associate uses the same verbiage every time and speaks to anyone who will listen.

Then the survey comes around and the associate then types exactly what he/she has been saying all year all the time. People often communicate in writing the same way the speak.

Then the associate claims 'See "they" knew it was me'! Its not rocket science.

I am AST and promise it's anonymous. Why? Because the store manager goes nuts every year trying to guess who said stuff! If you type a comment telling the same story you always tell the same way, they'll know it's you.

The company says these surveys are anonymous. I highly doubt it as in years past your Supervisor pretty much knows who said what based on their responses. There are things within your control and some that are not. You have to use common sense which I know upper management lacks badly. If people could go in and not fear retaliation these surveys would be much better and a lot more revealing instead of the constant sugar coating that goes on.

Unless you are going to answer the pulse survey HONESTLY, then sit it out. It is better to decline taking it- which, by the way, is a totally acceptable option- than to "give Macy's what they want to hear."
Very few employees believe the survey is "anonymous" and are fearful of retaliation.
Understandable, so if that is how you feel, then SIT IT OUT. If you are afraid to be honest about how you feel about the working conditions in your store, then PASS ON THE SURVEY.

If it's geared toward the store, then we're going down the same path as before. The "company" won't care about what your people are saying about your leadership. That's a "personal" cultural opportunity for leadership to work on, not corporate.

The company wouldn’t notice anything still. They will still say that it’s only a handful are complaining. In my opinion this survey will be bad cuz the colleagues had enough with these ism program in my store we have more call outs than ever.
