It’s the pressure on stores from the top. Most of the region and division teams don’t understand what it’s like in stores anymore. Stores are tired and oftentimes have poor leadership at the top. Unrealistic expectations are usually placed on the “people pleasers” or executives with longevity….they want to eliminate the ones with 6+ weeks of vacation. Unfortunately too many Div and Reg executives of working from home instead of making a difference in stores. Travel limits? Ok then work from your “home base” store. Too many collecting 6 figure salaries to tell you what you already know but can’t accomplish with the help you have. We are still WAY TOO TOP HEAVY as a company. When times get tough, which they are, you would think division and regional “partners” would be in stores developing managers, merchants and sales colleagues. It’s pretty basic, unfortunately too many are “above that”.
