When did CA, Symantec and Brocade folks know the close date for the acquisition?

I’m wondering when we will know for sure when the close date is for the acquisition. Will we know the day of? A month before? Something else?

When did folks in CA, Symantec and Brocade know?

CA was announced in Early July and closed in Early Nov. Closed on the 5th, the 8th was the first round of firings.
That was $18B or so. This is obviously a much larger acquisition which probably means more time, but my guess is not much more... a month or two.
Word is almost everyone knew about 30 days prior if they were a 1 (staying) 2 (transition) or 3 (gone day 1).

In July there are readouts from the BUs to Broadcom. Its in their format specially used for acquisitions. They have a methodology for this and ask the business units to fill in specific info/format and details to present to the CEO, VP of software, some finance folks, and some others.

My guess, July and august is when they figure out what stays and what goes initially. What they think they can change year 1, year 2, etc. Who they need in transition to make those changes, who is needed long term, who can go... (1,2,3). Then they can plan on what to spin off, ki-l, etc.
My guess... individuals wont know status until at least October. Which means... enjoy your summer. Get some sun shine. Get a tan and workout more. For sure if you are in the cost areas and not the engineering areas. Enjoy your time now.

Broadcom doesn’t waste a minute. You will know when you or your coworkers receive the “you are fired” email.

At CA the deal closed on November 5th and the people were fired on November 8th.

I think the question is when will the people know the deal closed. It will be the day the stock is no longer publicly traded. You don’t get advance notice but usually a week or so before the actual close.

it was like 6 months before the close. I think something like may or so. And the close was in November
