Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

They want us to feel worthless

They want us to feel easily replaceable. I think the biggest job of most managers here is to make employees feel as worthless as possible, no matter how much work they do.

My manager asked me “what do I think I am worth to this company”, with the intention of emphasizing that I am just a number here. I was taken aback, I had no comment and now I am thinking what I should have answered him?

The worst company I have ever worked for. Toxic culture and toxic managers.

Macy's doesn't care about hard working colleagues. Most managers love playing mind games, belittling and pitting colleagues against each other to make them feel worthless. The direction of the company is lacking in integrity and ethics. It's becoming a sinking ship with the writing all over the walls.
