When the stores have district or regional visits. Why do they sit with the sales managers to get the feel of the store. So the managers can say everything is good. Why don’t they sit with the colleagues and hear from us. R they scared to hear the truth about the stores and how incompetent the executive team is?

I always thought if you're going to have a visit, and WANT to find out what's going on they'd say (for example) they will be in your store sometime at the end of October, not "we LL be there October 24th between 8a-12p". What's the point of showing up so everything will look good, polished and the entire management team will be there? (and not the next day when all but 2-3 will be off lol).

The visits are a waste of time. Everything is rehearsed and everyone reads from the script.
First the company needs to replace the regionals and then the new regionals need a big broom to get rid of at least fifty percent of the store leaders who are not capable.
Management hides problems to get bigger bonuses.
The regionals and most store leaders sweep all of the issues under the
carpet and pretend everything is fine.
But then again that is what top management wants . They do not want to hear how dysfunctional the stores are with the policies they are putting in place.
Take your pick drink the Macy’s
Kool-Aid or wear rose colored glasses That is what senior management wants.

Last time we had a visit our District VP sat with management to get the feel of the store -in front of our store manager. I thought we were to meet without the store manager????? Doesn’t really matter I doubt anyone would speak the truth in fear of it getting back and retaliation. They don’t really want to know.

I am an executive and I totally agree with the poster! I am one of the few who feels like during these visits they need to spend time with all the hard-working colleagues who are doing the real work that is making Macy’s successful. I am also one of the few executives who is on the floor with my team working as hard as they do to keep the department running smoothly and looking good. I even cover meal breaks for my team or any other COLLEAGUE that needs to take their break. No these people don’t want to hear the truth.

Most companies welcome the voice of all employees. Executives actually walk the floors and engage in conversation with employees to learn what is actually happening on the front line.

Stop drinking the Macy’s Kool-Aid.
Macy’s management are a bunch of hypocrites with their “inclusion” BS.
The only thing they care about is a bigger bonus by squeezing the blood out of hourly employees. Management talks the talk but NEVER walks the walk.

Because that's the way companies work. People at that level aren't going to speak with the colleagues in a meeting. It is what it is. Same for pretty much any company

The visits are a waste of company assets. Our store rehearses for days in order to have a totally scripted and controlled meeting. That is how the incompetent 621management remains in place. No body is allowed to speak the truth. All of the problems are swept under the carpet.

During a visit there is pressure to keep everything positive in front of the District and Regional team even if there are issues. I’ve been involved in several visits and Managers will be asked about any negative comments afterwards. There are team meetings during the day to review staffing and sales credit goals.

Who cares what the new names are? Macys is changing the titles of jobs and rebranding all the time. A CSX is still a sales manager.

The OP doesn’t know what’s going on at Macy’s. First off, there are no more districts. The name changed to divisions. Also, there are no more Sales Managers. The new title is Customer Experience Manager (CXM). In addition, the term associate was phased out and the new name is colleague. OP doesn’t know anything.

On a visit not everything is 'all good' and some salary associate's are called out. Believe it or not but it happens. Then some are asked to 'stay after class'.
