Here is Boeing sustainability plan in a nutshell: hire, layoff, rinse, repeat. It’s always a continually revolving door of new employees who are paid the least replacing older employees who were paid more.

Insider stock purchases are to avoid taxes. stock bonuses the executives get paid because they only have to pay 20% on the gains as opposed to cash which would be taxed based on their income tax bracket which would be 40% plus. Tax code needs to be reformed because the only thing they care about is the stock price

Must be the big good news day for Boeing!

Aviation sustainability plan is about 100 years too late. What a joke!

Suckers are born everyday and a fool and their money are soon departed!

Yes indeed, case in point:

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/boeing-company-nyse-ba-insiders-162909819.html

The con perspective here being that "Insider stock purchases are an indicator that insiders have a positive long term company outlook."

Nothing could be further from truth... In reality this means the insiders are focused on short term stock price...for personal gain...the management philosophy and problem that led to stock buybacks and the 737Max and 787 disasters.

I remember the Jim M. CEO desert meeting several years ago where it was discussed that Boeing couldn't be competitive going forward for much longer and it would be best to raise stock price as quickly as possible to benefit the executive suite and select shareholders before the SHTF. Seems like we are now here or very close to it.

The next Boeing quarterly report will be released in a couple weeks. Given still no 787 deliveries, 737Max deliveries no longer coming from two year grounding inventory and now be manufactured at large negative profit margin, and all the other endless project financial failures (777X, USAF Tanker, Air Force One, Starliner, etc), I am sure this quarterly report will be wonderful and wow the Boeing stock hawks...

Why does this matter and why should we care?

Everett isn't a significant manufacturing facility anymore. The last 747 will be manufactured there this year. South Carolina is taking over 787 manufacturing although Boeing has been able to deliver 787s for nearly two years now because of poor manufacturing.

That leaves 777s and a couple 767s for tankers. Tankers still remain inoperable because of poor design and manufacturing. 777X is not certifiable and DOA.

Expect the Everett facility will be sold off before too long like most every other Boeing has already been sold off. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone by now. There are still lots of executives who need their severance packages.
