Doubt Boeing will even be a minor player in Defense. There are already many much better Defense companies to satisfy government multiple bid selection process. Heck, all Boeing can do these days in Defense is to buy the smaller better Defense companies. Of course, all the good people leave shortly after this happens as know one likes to work for clueless AHs.

Boeing lost Space to Lockheed Martin many years ago and now SpaceX owns Space for the foreseeable future. ULA even removed Boeing from their website as it was considered a negative to marketing their expensive and obsolete launch system still dependent on Russian RD180 engines. Thank goodness for SpaceX. They make everything themselves including their Space Suits...which Boeing had to recently out source like everything else.

Boeing will be a minor player in space just like they are in defense. Funded to compete against the company that they usually lose against because the government does not want a single source supplier for contracts. Boeing decided to layoff all their senior defense engineers in the Pacific Northwest. They haven’t won anything since and the tanker has been a disaster as is he space program.
