We seem to be the bogeyman
I've just read through some posts on the VMware page and people are terrified of being acquired by Broadcom. I don't understand why. I personally enjoy my job and I am paid well for it. Actually, I'm paid above the industry standard, which is not something many companies can say. Knowing that I wonder how did we become such a bogeyman of acquisitions...
One of the responses: (visit others on the Broadcom page):
Why? Because it is a horrible company. It took me a year or two to realize it, but every day it becomes more clear. This company is literally run by psychopaths and incompetents. Sure, they make money, because that is literally all they care about. They actively encourage you to sabotage your co-workers to show you are a "go-getter". Hock is straight out of the Harvard MBA classes of the 70 and 80s. Why does Broadcom pay so well? Because no one would work there otherwise. I've been put in charge of hiring several candidates, and it is painful. I have to put on an act and try and convince some poor schmuck to come work here.
