Any working mothers here? I guess I am looking for some comfort here. I have two girls 2 and 4 and it's really hard balancing things. The SO is working full time and often travelling. I see them grow and I know it'll get better but I am so exausted daily - it's just hard...

Ism shows how much Macys cares about your child!!!I worked mornings for twenty years now have to leave because they want me to do nights
Macy's is tough for working mothers as well as students trying to go to school. If the
Manager is flexible and your hours are fairly stable you might be able to make a go of
it. However, it is very difficult to do school if the hours are always changing or if you are
working full time. If you can do your course online, that might work. However, 35 hrs work + 25-30 hours of school = 60-65 hours.

A good thread. I'll underline what others are saying - find a different job as retail and small kids does not go well. Now, I know this is easier said than done, but please consider this. I've tried to do it almost 20 years ago and about six months into this I realized it's not going to work and I quit. I came back 15 years later :-) and I still like my job. I know some are complaing about retail, but I just like it - I guess that' smy calling :-)
I feel for you and agree with the last post. Working in retail is definitely not the best trying to raise 2 small children. You will miss out on a lot of their activities. I always made sure that family came first and glad I did no matter how much my former employer MTech didn’t like it or said they would work with parents on work life balance. You can do better and just remember your children when looking for that better opportunity.
Retail is not the job you want if you have small kids. My working as a dept manager at another retailer working 70 hr weeks cost me my marriage. Get out while you can Macys doesn't give a damn about you or your life they care about special interest groups and their bonuses thats it. GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU CAN!!!!
