Intel made an offer and I declined. The macro economic headwinds may impact Intel in the near future, with headcount reductions and other measures.

Forget about economic headwinds. There are severe structural headwinds at Intel. They can’t compete with TSMC and all of their competitors use them. Even Intel is planning to use them.
Actually a recession is a pretty good time to join a new company since you’ll get stock granted at a low price which should appreciate as the economy recovers.
