Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

Creative writing for the benefit of California customers...

Nick posted a letter online to our California customers last week, according to an email we all received. It's very "up with people" and full of positive vibes and optimism, yet curiously fails to even mention the large shaft he's trying to stick in the current contract negotiations with the very people he speaks so lovingly about below. Is he kidding me right now?

"Dear Frontier Customer,

I’m writing to express my appreciation for your continued loyalty during a time of great change and advancement in our company.

I’m thankful, and I’m proud, of the fact that from the pandemic to the wildfires, and sometimes in adverse weather, our techs who came to your home were always glad to be there for you—keeping you connected to the people and things most important to you.

We are investing at the highest levels ever to bring you improved technology and blazing fast fiber internet, but at its heart our service to you stems from the constant dedication of our people. They’re driven by a single purpose, what we’ve been calling Building Gigabit America. It’s a mission to connect and support the digital society we’re now all a part of, whether we’re shopping online, collaborating with teammates across the country, having a telemedicine visit or gaining an education via distance learning.

I’m enormously proud of the work they do for you day in and day out. It’s hard and work full of challenges. I know because I’ve been out in the field with our techs and I’m so grateful for all that they do to keep you connected.

Many of you write to me to let me know how an installation went, or how a problem was resolved. Some of the letters and emails I get express disappointment because we didn’t do what we said we’d do. Others write to tell me what a great job one of our people did for you. I read every letter and email, because I deeply care about our customers and see each letter or email as an opportunity to understand how we can improve. And some of your messages give me the chance to recognize an employee because of the way they delighted you.

We’re turning Frontier around and as we become stronger, we’re making smart investments to expand our fiber network, to improve our customer service and in our employees to help create new career and life opportunities.

I speak for all our employees who take on the responsibility of ensuring you can connect to the world trouble-free, every time, and would like to thank you again for sticking with Frontier and helping us succeed in bringing you ever better service."

Thank god you'll be outsourced to the Philippines soon and we won't have to hear about how great you are to be in a dead-end call center position. Maybe you can get promoted to a team lead position so this company can own you completely; sounds to me like that'd be right up your alley.

I may wrk in a call center but many great careers start at the bottom and work up. Unliked union techs who just stay the same while whole world changes around them and they become more out of date. Pension and career are mine to own don’t think I have a right to anything. Job for life ended in last century. Git real

Let me guess, a call-center new hire with no possibility of a pension who truly feels left out?

He didn’t even post it himself. It was posted by one of his cronies to the employees. What a tu-d this guy is. He’s all talk. No doubt he just gives lip service to the share holders too. As we know the business is still dysfunctional, regardless of the spin they put on it.
