I don’t think Mike chose at all. I’m pretty sure he was told who would be succeeding him.

It was over the day Mike decided Blake should head the company when he and Gary and Larry were gone. He did not choose wisely.
It isn’t cheaper using external sources. That is a lie. If management knew how to run a manufacturing facility it would be cheaper and a he-l of a lot more efficient to make in house. However as previously stated… the current management would rather collect a salary for doing nothing. They don’t know how to run a manufacturing facility. It’s a disgrace.
So many people dislike DQAP Lean/ci.

Internal overhead cost and production was poor , far cheaper with better quality using external sources if managed properly.
DQAP LEAN MAN is arrogant and thicked skinned. That's why no one likes him. Have lunch alone and leaves office early each day
That is all they advise because that is all they know. They are completely clueless on the products and the way they are manufactured. So they push this lean BS in order to make their job seem relevant.
Lean has only achieved a few things, that would be 6’s. The rest has been pointless, and the higher management will never admit it. Cleaning and painting lines that is all what the lean guys seem to advise.
It is almost like two separate companies. There’s what Lean believe we manufacture then there is the reality of what we actually manufacture. Ask the customers, that’s where you will get the truth of what Lean has actually achieved.

The lean gurus know nothing but LEAN. It’s embarrassing sometimes. They miss ample opportunities to be more productive / cost effective because it’s not in the ‘LEAN’ rule book. Incompetence and inexperience is what springs to mind.
Lean in DQAP Is good for housekeeping. The lean guy should set up a new team of cleaners to ensure all places is clean and dust free. New job opportunities.
Lean X housekeeping (great collaboration) instead of organising useless meetings and wasting ppl time.
These Lean guru’s need to realise we are not mass production any more. Most work is thru supply chain now. Only good for excel sheets and creating useless meetings.
Incompetence at its finest. Complete opposite of original DQ philosophy of lean management and empowered employees. Now everyone waiting for their package
It seems every decision made by current management is not beneficial to the company, only beneficial to themselves. They want to lighten their own work load as much as possible by farming the work out (at a higher cost than making in house) so they can continue to collect a salary for doing next to nothing. The whole company stinks now. Too many of these ‘entitled’ novices in positions of power.
Well they are still praising themselves doing a great job.
